The palms of the hands, fingers may itch due to some dermatological (skin) diseases. In addition to itching, red spots often appear on the hands, which itch unbearably. These are diseases such as scabies, head lice, urticaria, neurodermatitis and some others.
Exposure to chemicals, mechanical, temperature phenomena on the hands can irritate dry and sensitive skin of the hands (contact dermatitis). Pay attention to whether your hands are frozen from the cold, whether they have been exposed to excessive exposure to sunlight, whether household chemicals have come into contact with your skin, or whether your palms are sweating. Perhaps products made of fur, leather, wool, synthetics affect them. Even hand cream can provoke allergic itching. Stop contact with the irritant and the itching will gradually go away.
Itchy skin of the hands may indicate the presence of any serious diseases: diabetes, kidney failure, tumors, dysfunction of the thyroid gland, liver diseases, and the lymphatic system of the body.
Severe psychological stress, nervous overexcitation, increased excitability lead to itching of the skin, in particular of the hands. Also, the reception and use of certain drugs (injections, tablets, ointments) can provoke itching in the palms and between the fingers.
It is quite obvious that insect bites provoke itching in the affected area. If you scratch the area of the insect bite for a long time, you should consult a dermatologist. An allergic reaction to insect venom is possible, the introduction of bacteria into the body when bitten.
