Alternative vision is the ability to perceive visual information about surrounding objects without the help of eyes and physical contact. Some people have this skill from birth, but anyone can develop it in themselves through training.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare in advance for the lesson. You will do better if you exercise on an empty stomach and in a calm, even mood.

Step 2

Sit in front of an empty table. Pull yourself together and isolate yourself from extraneous thoughts. If possible, try not to think about anything at all.

Rub your palms together, as if you are warming them in the cold. Concentrate on the sensations in your palms.

Step 3

Move your palm over the surface of the table at a height of about two to three centimeters. When you reach the edge of the countertop, continue driving. Try to feel how the feeling in your palm changes as it passes over the edge.

Step 4

Close your eyes and repeat the previous exercise. If everything is done correctly, you will feel when your palm passes over the edge of the table top and can, without touching, "grope" the edge of the table.

Step 5

Place a small object on the table. It is better that it is not made of the same material as the table (in other words, if the table is wooden, then it is better to take a stone or metal object).

Place your palm two to three centimeters above the object. Move your palm slowly over the table. Notice the change in sensation when a countertop or object is under your hand.

Step 6

Repeat the previous exercise with your eyes closed. Train until you can confidently find an object on the table "by touch" without touching it.

Step 7

Place your palm twenty five to thirty centimeters above the table. Focus on the sensations in your palm and slowly lower your hand. Remember the sensation that occurs when the palm is about to touch the surface.

Repeat the exercise with your eyes closed. Train until you can accurately stop your hand one or two millimeters from the surface.

Step 8

Stand facing a wall, tree, or other vertical obstacle. Concentrate on the sensations in the body. Slowly approach the obstacle, watching for changes in sensations. Remember how you feel when the obstacle is very close.

Repeat the previous exercise with your eyes closed. Take precautions so that you do not get hit by an obstacle. Train until you can confidently stop without reaching an obstacle.

Step 9

As a test exercise, enter a room with furniture and a variety of objects. Close your eyes and leave the room without bumping into obstacles. If necessary, "feel" objects without touching them.
