It may be necessary for home craftsmen to redo the old transformer, or even make a new one. The winding process does not cause particular difficulty and is rather a protracted procedure that requires increased attention and accuracy.

Necessary

  • - stranded wire;
  • - winding and unwinding mechanisms;
  • - winding wire;
  • - insulating pad;
  • - insulating paper.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare winding and unwinding mechanisms for operation. Place the coil with the winding wire on the axle of the last fixture and fix it securely. Fix the transformer frame to the rewinder shaft.

Step 2

Place the unwinding and rewinding mechanism on the table at a distance of about one meter so that the transformer frame and the wire spool are in the same plane. The wire forming the winding turns must lie on top of the frame.

Step 3

Take a stranded wire for making the first terminal of the transformer, pull the stripped end of which through one of the cheeks, solder it to the end of the winding wire and lay it along the axis of the frame perpendicular to the winding turns.

Step 4

Wind up. Do the work with two hands, with one hand turning the shaft of the winding machine, and with the other set the tension of the winding wire. Hold it at some angle to the turns for a snug fit of each next turn of the wire to the previous one. Winding the first layer from right to left with a turn to the turn on the lead wire, fixing it and not letting it slip out by accident. Lay the estimated number of turns in a row. Perform all subsequent layers in the same way. Guide the winding, not reaching 2 mm to each of the cheeks. Close the row with an insulating gasket, the ends of which should protrude beyond the edges of the wire and overlap on the cheeks.

Step 5

Continue winding to the penultimate layer when you need to lay the second lead wire. Pass its end through the cheek of the frame where the end of the penultimate layer of winding is located, and lay it down. The last layer fixes the lead wire, which is finally soldered to the end of the winding wire. Wrap the finished winding with several layers of insulating paper. Wind the second winding in the same way, then assemble the transformer and test it.
