If you are building a private house or a country cottage, you will be faced with the question of its water supply. The absence of a central water supply does not mean at all that you have to carry water from a well or stream using buckets with a rocker. The solution to this problem will be the device of your own pumping station at your site. Ideally, this should be taken care of before the building is erected.

Step 1

When designing a house, determine the location of the future well. The best option would be to find it in the basement of the building or in the basement. This will make it possible to compactly install the pumping station and protect the pumping equipment and pipelines from freezing.

Step 2

If you have conceived a home water supply system after the construction of the house, drill a well closer to the foundation. This will shorten the length of the pipeline, make it cheaper to isolate and equip the well. After the well is drilled, about 1 m of the casing will rise above the earth's surface. Dig it to a depth depending on the parameters of soil freezing and the level of surface waters. This will protect the pipe from freezing.

Step 3

Dig a trench from the well to the foundation of the house, making sure that there is a slight slope in the direction of the well. For reliable operation of the equipment, position the hole in the foundation at a height that ensures the passage of the suction line without kinks and sharp drops.

Step 4

With a well depth up to 20 m, install an automatic pumping station, consisting of a hydrophore and a deep pump. It can be a one-pipe (at a depth of up to 10 m) or a two-pipe ejector station. In any case, it is better to choose the model that makes less noise. To install the pumping station, build a welded light table or brick plinth. Make sure that the pumping station does not come into contact with the foundation or walls of the house. This will prevent the propagation of noise from the operating mechanism through the elements of the building.

Step 5

Next, lay a suction line from the station to the well. Start the ejector installation with the check valve. Fine gravel and coarse grains of sand will be trapped by the filter of this valve, without which the pumping station will not work. Seal all threaded connections with flax and special sealing paste. Check them for leaks.

Step 6

Cut off the remaining excess casing section. Install a head with the appropriate diameter. For the water intake, measure the vertical section of the pipeline 2 m higher than the water level. Connect the pipe to the ejector couplings.

Step 7

Carry out the internal work, consisting in the installation of the pressure line. Use plastic pipes for the inside of the plumbing. Install a shut-off valve so that you can quickly shut off, if necessary, the water supply to the house. Install a self-cleaning primary filter in a convenient place on the wall.

Step 8

Route pipes from the pumping station to the couplings of the centrifugal pump. After checking all connections, carefully lower the ejector into the well. Fill the station with water. Check the pressure in the accumulator (1, 2 - 1, 5 atm.), If it is below normal, pump air.

Step 9

Perform a test run of the pumping station. To do this, open the valves and connect the station to the mains. Adjust the pressure if necessary. After successful completion of the test run, grab the branch to the well in several places by welding, wrap it with waterproof tape and fill the end part of the branch with polyurethane foam.
