Summer is a hot time when forests on the territory of Russia ignite spontaneously from the high air temperature and the scorching sun. But not only this contributes to the destruction of the green massif: an inadvertently thrown cigarette butt or a bonfire poorly extinguished after a picnic can flare up to a large-scale disaster. Therefore, outdoor enthusiasts need to know where to make fires.

Sites for possible bonfires are strictly defined and marked by forest guards. If you decide to start producing fire in a place not designated for this, you will automatically become a violator of the Fire Safety Rules of the Russian Federation. Such violation of the law is punishable by a fine, even if the fire did not lead to a large-scale fire in the territory.

Officially, fires cannot be made directly near and under trees, in young stands consisting of conifers, next to dry reeds, moss, grass. Also prohibited areas include: forest clearings and burnt-out areas, peat bogs and stony placers. Pay attention if you are in a congestion area of a large coniferous forest. Never make a fire there, because the fire will turn out to be large-scale, and the needles flare up instantly. It is very difficult to extinguish a fire that has arisen in such a place.

It seems that where there is a scattering of stones, it is safest to make a fire. But this is a rather deceptive impression of ignorant people. The fact is that a large amount of dry leaves, humus, and needles are collected under and between the stones. A spark that imperceptibly bounced into such a place can cause a large fire, which will not become visible immediately. Under the stones, the fire will quickly spread in all possible directions.

Unfortunately, not all ammunition in the territories of former hostilities has been found and neutralized so far. You should definitely consult with a local forester when you go on vacation to any forest park area. He will indicate the dangerous areas, and also tell you where special places for making fires are organized.

When planning to go out to barbecue, use a store rather than a natural barbecue. Always extinguish fireplaces and cigarette butts thoroughly. When lighting a fire, be extremely careful and do not leave the area unattended in order to avoid creating an emergency.
