The button accordion has a rather complex device, and in case of weak sounding of the keys or bad air blowing out by bellows, it is worth starting to repair it. There are two ways to repair the button accordion: on your own or take it to a master. If you decide to repair the button accordion yourself, you need to disassemble it.

Necessary

To repair the accordion or replace some parts, you may need to purchase accessories. Go to any music store - they provide both the tools themselves and everything you need for them. Pay attention to bellows corners, connecting pins, foot valves, belt mounts, leather patches, and more

Instructions

Step 1

Detach the parts of the bellows from the body. To do this, find the studs at the junction of the fur and body and pull them out. Pull the studs out carefully with pliers. The older the tool, the more likely it is that the cap will break off from the body of the nail. Next, carefully examine the fur for defects and cracks. If there are any, eliminate them. Then remove the mesh covering the valves. It is usually secured with screws. So it will not be difficult for you to remove it.

Step 2

Check all keys visually. If one of them bursts or just fell off, you can borrow the keys from the bottom, which are rarely used. Next, test each key for opening and closing the fur. If the internal key mechanism does not work, clean it thoroughly. After carrying out all the work, reassemble the entire accordion structure back, leaving no gaps between its various parts.

Step 3

If it was not possible to repair the button accordion on your own, take it to an experienced musical instrument repair specialist who will try to solve your problem as soon as possible. Also, various workshops at music stores are engaged in repairs.
