The transitional age is usually considered the prerogative of children and adolescents, but not everyone knows that it happens in quite adult women and men. According to modern psychologists and psychotherapists, this happens precisely at the age of 23, when a person enters adulthood and begins to experience another crisis.
Middle age crisis
Each child, according to doctors, goes through 6-7 transitional ages before his eighteen, which are dangerous from a psychological and physical point of view. After reaching adulthood, young women and men are faced with the reality of life - if before that they were more or less taken care of by their parents, then with the responsibility being placed on their shoulders, many fall into depression.
The transitional age after 20 years may also indicate a restructuring of the psyche under a still changing body.
In fact, transitional ages are a period of time when the human body undergoes various changes, accompanied by a change in relations with people and society. As a result, young people experience a difficult emotional state, which can be triggered by psychological, physiological and neurasthenic factors. The human body grows and develops actively until the age of 21-23. During this period, the body changes, yesterday's students turn into men and women who experience serious hormonal and moral overload. The result of these "roller coasters" is a belated transitional age.
How to cope with the adolescent age of 23
Having flown out of the parental nest, a person enters an educational institution or goes to the army, followed by marriages, the birth of children, the need for work, the acquisition of housing, relationships with colleagues, and so on. All this causes a lot of nervous tension among young people who are still looking for ways to know themselves and, as a result, can lead to banal nervous breakdowns.
Often young people become insecure in themselves and their strengths - and if there are other problems against the background of the transitional age, then it will not be easy to do without the help of a psychologist.
First of all, young people who are going through the transitional age after 20 years should have the opportunity to talk with their parents, ask them for support or good advice. If life seems unfulfilled, you should think about your place in it - perhaps the person works in the wrong place, meets with the wrong guy or girl, or is simply depressed. The first points are quite easy to fix, but if you have depression, it is advisable to contact a psychotherapist for professional advice. Most often, qualified specialists help to gain self-confidence and start into adulthood without destroying all nerve cells.
