An angel in Abrahamic religions is a being or spirit that communicates the will of God. Angels are endowed with supernatural powers. Traditionally, these anthropomorphic creatures are depicted with wings.

Instructions

Step 1

The word "angel" itself comes from the Greek "angelos", which translates as "messenger". Followers of major religions consider angels to be messengers of God and executors of his orders. In all Abrahamic religions, it is believed that God created angels long before man. They became his assistants and servants, helped him in the creation of the world, inspired him and praised him.

Step 2

After the creation of the world, the main function of angels was to communicate with people on behalf of God. People have always had the opportunity to address God directly, but he cannot intervene in human life if a person is not ready for this. In such situations, angels come to the aid as intermediaries, through whom God can transmit his desires and messages to people. In addition, due to limited thinking, it is much easier for people to perceive instructions through a tangible, visible, albeit completely spiritual being, who can express them in words, out loud, than directly communicate with God in prayer.

Step 3

In all religions where angels are present, they are ministering spirits who must help a person on his difficult path, fulfill his desires and help with advice in difficult situations. It is not for nothing that there is an idea of a guardian angel who accompanies a person throughout his life, protecting him from dangers, protecting him from harm.

Step 4

According to the ideas of the Jews and Christians, in addition to the angels serving God, there are also fallen angels who joined the rebellion of Satan and created their kingdom, known to people as hell. After being cast down from heaven or falling, angels turned into demons, became spirits of evil. Demons try to drag people along with them, to destroy their souls in order to drag them to hell.

Step 5

Descending to earth, angels take the form of people with wings, usually these wings are completely white, but some artists depicted angels with wings of other colors. Most often they look like golden-haired youths or androgynes of extraordinary beauty, dressed in shining white clothes. In their natural form, angels remain invisible to human eyes, since they are, first of all, spiritual beings.

Step 6

In Islam, angels are believed to be created from light, incredibly strong and sexless. They do not have freedom of choice, they follow the orders of Allah unquestioningly and are completely sinless. Unlike Christianity, there are no stories of fallen angels in Islam.
