Instructions

Step 1

Decide on the type of transport with which you want to import the goods. Transportation of goods by plane is extremely rare, since it is very expensive, and not always relevant, because Ukraine borders on Russia. The need for an airplane arises only if the goods are urgent and small. Otherwise, it is best to use road or rail transport. The latter method is quite cheap and is in demand when importing a large amount of goods.

Step 2

Check out the customs regulations of both countries. This is important to avoid any problems at the border. For example, it is prohibited to export cultural values, precious metals and stones from Ukraine without special permission. And when transporting animals and plants, you must obtain permission from phytosanitary or veterinary control. If, during the check at the border, the fact of illegal import of goods is established, you will need to return it, and at your own expense.

Step 3

When crossing the border, fill out the customs declaration, which include the following information:

- surname, name, patronymic;

- the name of the organization, if you are importing goods for a legal entity;

- a list of things to be declared.

Step 4

Fill out the declaration on two forms and hand them over to customs officers. All information must be accurate, otherwise you can be fined a large sum of money for attempting to smuggle goods into the country.

Step 5

Based on the list provided by you, customs officials will determine whether a particular product is subject to use in everyday life. If there is no place for it to be used at home, it will be recognized as purchased for commercial purposes, which means that you will need to pay a customs fee.

Step 6

Submit documents that confirm that the goods are manufactured in Ukraine, then you will not need to pay a duty, but only value added tax (VAT) at the rate of 18%. In addition, some products, for example, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, gasoline, etc., may be subject to an additional tax - excise. After paying excise taxes, it is imperative to stick stamps on alcohol.

For goods of non-Ukrainian origin, you will need to pay both duty and VAT on a general basis.

Step 7

Cargo imported for personal use, with the exception of vehicles, must not weigh more than 35 kilograms and cost more than 65 thousand rubles. In this case, you will not have to pay customs duty. If the cost of your luggage is from 65 to 650 thousand rubles, and the weight is from 35 to 200 kilograms, you will need to pay a duty of 30% of the total value of the goods specified in the declaration. In any case, try to collect and keep checks of Ukrainian sellers.

Step 8

After checking, you will be given your copy of the declaration, in which it will be noted that the money has been paid. This document is a confirmation of the legitimacy of the location of the goods on the territory of Russia.
