Pine is an evergreen coniferous tree. The Pinaceae family has more than 100 varieties, but regardless of the variety, any type of pine reproduces best with the help of seeds, which are naturally carried by the wind over great distances and germinate without additional care. To grow pine trees in the garden, certain agricultural techniques must be followed.

Necessary

  • - Pine cones;
  • - sawdust or sand;
  • - fertile soil;
  • - boxes for sowing.

Instructions

Step 1

To grow pine from seed, you need to collect cones. This is best done in September, when the seeds are almost ripe. But in any case, you will have to spread the buds in a thin layer in a dry heated room in order to be able to collect the seed.

Step 2

After two to three weeks, remove the seeds, for this it is enough to peel the cones. Pour the collected seed into a container, fill with water. All unripe seeds and debris will float, drain the water.

Step 3

Place the seeds in a damp cloth for 36 hours. After the specified period of time, proceed to direct sowing.

Step 4

Sow in sawdust obtained from deciduous tree species. It is permissible to sow pine seeds in sand, beforehand, both the sand and sawdust must be thoroughly moistened.

Step 5

Sprinkle the sown seeds to a depth of 2 cm, roll in, water gently. Keep crops moist prior to germination. It is not necessary to cover the boxes with foil, since the seedlings will appear only after 45-60 days and if they are covered, this will lead to the appearance of mold, which will have a detrimental effect on the crops.

Step 6

As soon as the plants grow up to 5-6 cm, plant them at a distance of 50x50 cm. For transplanting, use a fertile mixture of 2 parts of sod land, 1 part of humus, 1 part of sawdust, 1 part of peat. It is permissible to dive plants into the soil mixture intended for seedlings. You can buy it ready-made in a shop for gardeners and gardeners.

Step 7

Plant in the ground next year. Prepare the holes, fill them with sawdust, turf soil, peat. Transplant seedlings, compact the soil, water.

Step 8

It is impractical to sow pine seeds immediately into the ground, since they can be completely destroyed by rodents, which always settle near human dwellings. Therefore, before the seedlings are strong enough, grow them in a nursery or in a winter greenhouse.
