Floribundas and park roses are considered the most long-flowering of all varieties of roses. They are also the most resistant to frost, and under cover they easily endure severe winters.

Instructions

Step 1

In translation, "floribunda" means "profusely blooming", and already from the name it becomes clear that these very varieties of roses will bloom all summer until the first frost. This variety is a hybrid obtained by crossing polyanthus roses with hybrid tea. An interesting fact is that initially they did not have a smell, having lost it as a result of selection, but later they managed to return a light aroma back.

These varieties are in many ways reminiscent of hybrid tea, and from the polyanthus they inherited endurance and winter hardiness. Distinctive features of the variety are also small leaves and low growth. The peculiarity of the floribunda rose is that its flowers do not grow singly, as in other species, but develop in inflorescences, each of which can contain up to a dozen flowers.

Step 2

With light pruning of bushes in spring, flowering occurs early. But it is not recommended to cut off strongly - the shoots are unnecessarily stretched and can bloom only by August or September. Moderate pruning (4-6 eyes) promotes harmonious shoot development and ensures timely flowering in June. When cutting a rose, it is not recommended to leave wood older than 2 years on the bush. This variety of roses can be grown in a garden, in a greenhouse and even in a pot at home.

Step 3

According to international botanical terminology, all cultivated rose hips are called park roses - they bloom from early spring to late autumn. In favorable conditions, they are large shrubs with abundant flowering. For planting in the middle lane, this type of roses has one indisputable advantage - the flowers hibernate without shelter. In autumn, when flowering ends, the bushes of this plant are no less attractive for their bright fruits and leaves. The color of the flowers of park roses is from snow-white to dark purple, you can rarely find yellow, orange, tea varieties.

Step 4

For a favorable development, park roses need a sunny, well-ventilated place. In partial shade and in the shade, flowering will noticeably decrease or disappear altogether. Neighborhood with large trees is undesirable. Any soils are suitable, but preference should be given to soils with a high humus content, or medium-heavy clayey.

The main element of caring for park roses is the annual formative pruning. The bushes are sheared, cupping them and leaving only the strongest shoots. Spring pruning should be done no later than mid-April. In September-October, young shoots are cut by 5-7 cm. This allows the bush to tolerate frost better. Open sections must be covered with oil paint or garden varnish.
