What is the series "Twin Peaks" about?

The TV series "Twin Peaks" is a whole world and everyone understands this world in their own way. The film has no beginning and no end. Events begin in the film, when the murder has already been committed, a body is found on the shore of the lake. The ending of the series implies a continuation, and it cannot be. This series is presented as one piece, a segment of endlessly happening events.

The first part fascinates the viewer with intrigue about who killed Laura Palmer. Many interesting personalities and families appear, and I want to follow the events with interest and ease. Then, when the killer is revealed, it becomes at first not entirely clear where events are going and why they are going. And only after a few episodes do you realize that this is not a detective story. The television series is much deeper than meets the eye.

Almost everything in this film is ambiguous, good and evil, love and intrigue, White wigwam and Black wigwam. The very name "Twin Peaks", translated from English, means double peaks. Almost everyone in Twin Peaks leads a double life.

The main character, killed by Laura Palmer, is no exception. On the one hand, Laura is an obedient schoolgirl doing charity work, and on the other hand, she is a lecherous drug addict.

Two worlds are also described in the film. One world is real, in a city where ordinary life goes on, and the other is the other world. It is located in the forests of the valley, the entrance to it is through a wigwam. The other world is represented by two red rooms. The heroes of the film walk from room to room like a labyrinth. Events in two rooms are constantly changing, they flow into each other, like an hourglass. As soon as one problem is solved, another, a third, etc. immediately arises. There are doubles in the rooms, which are opposite to each other. Not everyone can enter this other world and even more so get out of it. Agent Cooper managed to enter the wigwam, but did not come out on his own. His double came out of the wigwam, together with Bob.

The plot in the series is structured in such a way that both worlds are closely related to each other. The thoughts and actions of heroes from one world affect the actions of another world and vice versa. Otherworldly forces, in the person of the evil Bob, can move into anyone who lets him in. So, Bob possessed the father of the main character, and he killed Laura. Good forces in the face can also help. So, the Giant constantly helps Agent Cooper with his tips.

Two opposites: good and evil, which resonate everywhere, i.e. the more doubles you see, the more the meaning of the film is understood. Perhaps the clue of the television series is hiding in the viewer's search for doubles who are in constant struggle. But there is a feeling that in this struggle of opposites the whole world around us is born.
