On July 4 this year, the media reported that a Swedish civilian plane dropped teddy bears on the territory of Belarus. Each of them was attached with a message calling for freedom of speech in the country.

Recently, the Swedish edition of The Local published an article describing how a civilian plane operated by a Swedish pilot dropped teddy bears onto the territory of Belarus. Each toy was accompanied by a leaflet written in pure Belarusian. It called for freedom of speech for every citizen of a given country. It happened right after the celebration of the Independence Day in Belarus.

According to the Swedes, the private plane flew into the airspace of Belarus with neighboring Lithuania without any problems. And the organization of this action belonged to the Swedish advertising agency Studio Total, known for its scandalous campaigns.

After such information, the Ministry of Defense tried to refute this incident, which is quite natural, since the imperceptible penetration of the country's airspace by a civilian vessel casts serious doubt on the competence of the air defense of Belarus. However, at that time, videos were already posted on the Internet, in which you can see the dropping of teddy bears from the window of a light single-engine aircraft. The footage also shows the place where the "plush" landing party landed - this is the town of Ivenets in the Minsk region. This fact was confirmed by the eyewitnesses of the event from among the local residents.

Currently, Belarus is investigating the reasons why the country's air defense allowed a private plane to enter the territory under their control. And the Swedish pilots anonymously published a comment on the Internet about their participation in this action. In it, they admitted that, despite all the risks they were exposed to, they really wanted to draw public attention to journalists and dissidents in Belarus, who risk their freedom every day by expressing their own opinions in their own country.
