Life is full of various trials and obstacles, but sometimes a person, even without knowing it, can complicate it for himself on his own. There may be many reasons for this, but there are basic mistakes that can be eradicated to save yourself a lot of problems and frustrations.

Step 1

Do not feed yourself with false illusions that someday everything will change by itself.

Most unsuccessful people are used to comforting themselves with dreams that someday everything will be different for them. That now is simply not the same life period, but in 10-20 years they will have everything they dream of. Dreams are good, but dreams that are not supported by actions will remain dreams. It is naive to believe that a person who has done the same actions from day to day all his life can become someone else in the future. The magic button that turns us from losers into successful and enterprising people simply does not exist, only we ourselves can make us. Don't waste your time with illusions. If you are not satisfied with the current state of affairs, change your outlook on life, and actions for inaction, this is the only way to bring yourself closer to achieving your goals in the future.

Step 2

Stop feeling sorry for yourself.

Pity stings, and not only in relation to others, but also to oneself. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and constantly compare with others. This, of course, is largely the same problem that we have to face in childhood, when parents constantly compare you with their peers, saying that a neighbor, for example, does something better than you. And in adulthood, you already start comparing yourself with others, finding excuses for everything like: "I'm just not as enterprising / lucky / successful as my businessman friend, so nothing will work for me, I shouldn't even start." With these kinds of excuses and self-burdens, you will never really start anything. Stop this self-destruction, it is better to think about what you can do and what you do better than others.

Step 3

Do not even try to concentrate on achieving this or that goal until you clearly define for yourself why you need it.

At all kinds of trainings and seminars, advanced training, we are constantly told about the importance of setting goals. And, it would seem, without a goal, it is impossible to achieve a single result in life. However, this is not quite true. Rather, without understanding the importance of achieving this goal, it is impossible to achieve it. And these are fundamentally different things. Remember how many times you told yourself that from next Monday you will go on a diet or quit smoking, that next month you will start life from scratch, crossing out the past. Most of these goals remain unattainable simply because you lacked sufficient motivation to achieve them. You have not yet found your “why” to achieve these goals, because such admonitions to yourself can continue long enough until there is a strong enough reason to achieve it. Therefore, when setting a goal, clearly define your "pain" for yourself. Why is it so important for you to achieve it right now, what is your motivation, do you really need what you are striving for?

Step 4

Be aware of the sacrifices you will have to make.

So, with your "why" you have decided, now you need to understand what you are actually willing to sacrifice in order to achieve your goal. Returning to motivational trainings, I would like to note that almost none of them talk about the need to sacrifice your time, communication with relatives or friends, even sleep. And, as a rule, the more ambitious your goal, the more sacrifice. Think about it and be sure to weigh the pros and cons, analyze whether the end justifies the means, whether you are ready to give something in return in order to achieve this goal.

Step 5

Don't focus immediately on achieving your ultimate goal.

Each goal is different, some have big ones, some have small ones, but, you must admit, it is much more convenient to imagine a plan of action when you break the goal into stages. If you focus directly on the end result, then for most it may seem difficult to achieve or not at all feasible. It is completely different when you clearly know at what stage you are now, what actions you need to perform today, in a week, in a month. This greatly simplifies the approach to any business, so eat the elephant in pieces and you will not even notice how you eat it whole.

Step 6

Do not live according to the scenario imposed on you.

Why do you think most people want to become rich and successful but do absolutely nothing? Unfortunately, for many, the desire for such a life is just a stereotype imposed by society, and not a true desire. In life, we often have to deal with this, when, for example, a child attends those circles in which his parents would actually like to go, and not himself; and then he finishes the specialty at the university, which dad dreamed of getting. In achieving any goal, it is important to be aware of whether this is really what you want, or whether you just want to please the desires of your family and friends. Think about it at your leisure. After all, even if you manage to achieve a goal that was in fact simply imposed on you, you will not receive moral satisfaction, risking disappointment and a nervous breakdown in return.

Step 7

Learn to enjoy even small victories in your life.

There are people who, in any situation, are constantly prone to endless introspection. They seem to achieve their goals, but they do not receive much joy and satisfaction from this process. This is because such people live forever in the future, instead of being happy here and now. Learn to enjoy even the smallest accomplishments in your life. After all, when there is no joy, there is no motivation for further action. Do not put off real life until later, know how to stop, evaluate the results of the work done and only then move on with renewed vigor.

Step 8

Don't let others interfere with your plans.

This is perhaps the biggest mistake you can make on the way to achieving your goal. Your friends, acquaintances and relatives, of course, want only the best for you, but if you allow them to interfere in your affairs, you risk not achieving what you want at all. Remember, everyone has their own life scenario, which for one seems difficult and unattainable, the other can do it with ease and without any special problems. Therefore, be grateful to your loved ones for their possible advice, but do not deviate from the planned plan.
