Instructions

Step 1

Double-deck compartment trains were launched in Russia on the eve of the Olympics. Now this train goes from Moscow to Adler and back, however, trains will soon be launched in other directions. The train is driven by a special electric locomotive with increased power.

Step 2

Such a train differs in many respects from ordinary cars of Russian Railways, and first of all - in height, because it is almost twice as high as the usual cars. The second thing that strikes in it is the novelty and almost European atmosphere inside the car. The car starts from the vestibule, you have to go down a small staircase - the first floor is just below the station platform. The doors of the vestibule open automatically, you just need to press the button.

Step 3

If you go further along the corridor, on one side you can see toilets and technical booths. They are open even at bus stops. Each carriage has three toilets for 64 passengers. It may seem that this number is not enough for such a large number of people, but there are practically no queues, at least one car is free. The equipment in the toilets, as in the rest of the train, is new. Waste containers are located next to the toilets. Russians may be surprised that, according to European tradition, they are designed for separate waste collection.

Step 4

On the first floor of the train, the ceiling height is about 2 meters. To enter the compartment, you need to attach a key card to the magnetic lock. The main difference between compartments inside double-deck trains from ordinary trains is a rather low ceiling height and the absence of a third luggage rack. For suitcases and bags, there is only space under the lower shelves. This is a small drawback of such cars, it is better not to take a lot of things on such a train. In addition, it may not be very comfortable for passengers on the upper shelves to sit, but the length of the shelves allows even tall people to sit quite comfortably.

Step 5

Each compartment has two working outlets, from which you can easily charge laptops, tablets or phones. There is free internet on the train, although the connection between the stations is often lost. LED lamps are located next to the outlets. But the windows in the carriages cannot be opened. The air temperature is automatically regulated, but sometimes passengers complain about poor ventilation and a lack of clean air. If the train gets too stuffy, you need to contact the conductor.

Step 6

A staircase with railings and lighting in the steps leads to the second floor. There is a small waste bin on the stairs. A mirror on the wall allows you to see who is going down or up to meet. Elderly people are likely to find it difficult to lift their suitcases to the second floor, so this should be taken into account when choosing a ticket.

Step 7

The second floor of the train is identical to the first. The only difference is the slight slope of the roof. It is noticeable both in the corridor and in the compartment. Therefore, the passengers on the top bins can be a little uncomfortable, especially for tall people. The windows in the corridor on the second floor are located almost at waist level, so it is better to admire the scenery from the compartment. By the way, according to passengers' reviews, the views from the second floor are much better than those from the first.

Step 8

Each passenger is given a special set with dry rations, water and hygiene items. But if you don't want to eat sandwiches and pâté, you can go to the restaurant car, which is located on the second floor. And underneath, on the first floor, there is a small kitchen and a bar.
