An auditor is a prestigious and highly paid profession. It should be noted that since July 1, 2009, licensing in audit has been replaced by self-regulation. That is, audit organizations and individual auditors need to join self-regulatory associations in order to be eligible to engage in audit activities.

Step 1
Graduate from a higher education institution. If we are talking about an individual entrepreneur who wants to engage in audit activities, then the first prerequisite is basic education. A few years ago, auditors had to graduate from universities in economics or law. Now there is no such strict restriction, and you can become an auditor if you have a diploma in journalism, philology, or even a physical education teacher.
Step 2
Gain experience in specialization. For at least 3 of the last 5 years, you must have worked as an accountant, economist, auditor or teacher of economics. Work on a permanent basis, as well as part-time work in these specialties is counted.
Step 3
Get specialized professional education. This term means training in specialized training centers and organizations for the training and retraining of auditors. Education can be done on-the-job and on-the-job. This is followed by an internship at an audit company.
Step 4
Learn to be fluent in business Russian. Perhaps to some it will seem like an insignificant step, but the auditor must not only correctly conduct an audit in organizations, but also correctly draw an audit opinion.
Step 5
Obtain an auditor qualification certificate. If you meet all the previous requirements, then you need to perform testing. Having collected the required number of points, the applicant is allowed to take exams. If you successfully pass them, you will receive an auditor's qualification certificate.
Step 6
Join a self-regulatory association of auditors. If you want to engage in auditing activities individually, you need to join this organization. To do this, you will need to make a contribution of 3,000 rubles and present a qualification certificate.
