The history of the use of mumiyo for various diseases goes back thousands of years. And yet, modern medicine has not made final conclusions, continuing to study the nature of the rock medicine and its effect on humans.

What is mumiyo

Despite the fact that there is a mumiyo in free access in any pharmacy, modern medicine is in no hurry to introduce it into practice. This is due to insufficient knowledge of the nature of the emergence of this product of nature, although research is still carried out and is being carried out.

Riddles of the origin of "mountain wax"

There are a lot of hypotheses about the origin of the name mumiyo itself and the reasons for the appearance of this resin-like substance on the rocks of the highlands. Since mumiyo is found in India, Africa, Mongolia, Australia, China, South America and a number of countries of Central Asia, then everywhere there is a name, which in translation, in essence, means the same: juice, oil, tar, blood or rock wax. According to one version, "mum" is translated as wax.

Indeed, the consistency of mumiyo is akin to wax, which can be softened by the warmth of your hands. It is mined high in the mountains, most often above the mark of 1, 5 - 2 thousand meters above sea level. Mumiyo is a raw material found in the crevices of calcareous rocks. It still needs to be cleaned to be used. Initially, wild bees were suspected of its appearance, but they do not live at such a height.

With a thorough scientific analysis of the composition of the mumiyo, it turned out that it is a product that includes organic, inorganic and mineral components. The organic part is of biogenic plant and animal nature. This is most often the excrement of animals that once tasted medicinal plants growing at a given height. This is confirmed by the fact that mumiyo accumulations are found precisely in the habitats of pikas, argali, bats or wild pigeons. The inorganic part includes 50 chemical elements, including 10 metal oxides.

Varieties of mumiyo

Scientists believe that animal remains, plants, soil, small particles of rocks, wood participated in the creation of mumiyo, and therefore, in order to use it for treatment, the raw mumiyo must undergo multi-level purification and enrichment, during which heavy metals will be removed. Otherwise, its use is unsafe.

The chemical composition of mumiyo is unstable and has a heterogeneous structure, because they depend on the place and conditions of formation. Hence the different color, which varies from light yellow with gray blotches to black. All products called mumiyo can be divided into groups:

- mountainous, where the composition is dominated by minerals and there are practically no animal remains;

- honey-wax - a product of wild bees that has undergone polymerization from prolonged lying;

- excrement - petrified excrement of small rodents;

- bituminous - a mass formed from anaerobic decomposition of vegetation;

- juniper - resin released from the trunks of juniper, spruce, pine, mixed with the soil and flowed out onto the slopes of the rocks;

- cadaveric - formed during the slow decomposition of insects or animals.

According to scientists, it is mumiyo, formed from excrement, enriched with soil and the activity of microorganisms, that serves as an excellent means for healing wounds and regenerating tissues.
