Instructions

Step 1

In order to maintain the correct moisture conditions in the tomato garden, one watering is not enough. It is also necessary to create an environment in which the water would not evaporate soon, but is gradually absorbed by the plants. For this purpose, a tomato bed is often placed in a greenhouse or greenhouse.

Step 2

For tomatoes, moist soil and dry air are ideal. Therefore, you need to water the plants not from above, but at the root. Do not direct the water directly to the base of the stem, but a little side by side so as not to wash out the roots. Avoid splashing water on leaves and fruits.

Step 3

Don't water the tomatoes too often. The best thing is to keep the watering frequency approximately every 6-7 days. These plants are able to economically use water.

Step 4

Rare watering does not mean that tomatoes need little water, quite the opposite. They need about 10 liters of water per 1 square decimeter of occupied land.

Step 5

If you grow tomatoes at home, such as on a balcony, water them more often than once a week. They have less land, and it will not be possible to pour the amount of water necessary for several days there.

Step 6

The best time to water tomatoes, like many other plants, is at the beginning of the day, long before lunchtime. The water should be warm, about 20-25 degrees. If the weather is cold, the water should be additionally heated so that its temperature is about 25-30 degrees.

Step 7

If the weather is hot outside and you see that the leaves will soon begin to wither, water the tomatoes, even if the watering time has not come yet. The liquid evaporates more than usual, so the plants may not have enough moisture.
