There is perhaps no more effective thirst remedy than a glass of clean, cool water. This problem becomes especially urgent in summer, with the onset of a sweltering heat, when it is necessary to obtain a large amount of cool water in a fairly short time. There are several options for quickly cooling water at home and outdoors.

Necessary

  • - refrigerator;
  • - ice;
  • - cotton towel;
  • - salt;
  • - plastic basin;
  • - ceramic or glass cups.

Instructions

Step 1

The most popular way to cool drinks at home and in the country is the refrigerator. Place a container of water in the refrigerator and keep it there until the liquid has cooled. The smaller the container volume, the faster the water will cool. Use a freezer to speed up the process. However, care must be taken that the water does not turn into ice. It is not recommended to put very hot water in the refrigerator, as it can damage the equipment.

Step 2

Liquid placed in a bowl with ice cools down rather quickly. Fill a plastic bowl with ice and dip the water bottle into it. It will cool down for half an hour.

Step 3

If you don't have ice or a refrigerator on hand, try the following. Take a wide cotton towel and dampen it liberally with strong saline solution. Wrap a water bottle with this cloth and place it where there is a draft. The more it is blown by the wind, the faster the liquid will cool down. Similarly, you can chill a watermelon or melon that has been in the sun for a long time.

Step 4

Very often, nearby water bodies are used for urgent cooling of drinks in nature. To do this, immerse the bottle of liquid in a river or pond, making sure that it does not float away. It can be weighted down by tying some weight or simply placed in a plastic bag tied to a stick on the shore. Instead of a pond, you can put a bottle in a regular bucket filled with low temperature water. However, the cooling time will increase significantly.

Step 5

To cool a small batch of hot water, use two small thick-walled ceramic or glass cups. Transfer the liquid from one to the other until it reaches the desired temperature. In this way, you can cool 200 ml of water in just a few minutes.
