The most common type of sterilizer is electric steam. They are powered by the mains and consist of a container for dishes and a tank in which water is heated and converted into steam. Sterilization takes about 15 minutes. Items are sterile for up to 6 hours. The capacity of such sterilizers ranges from 3 to 8 bottles, depending on the size of the neck. You can handle not only bottles and nipples, but also other little things, such as medicine dispensers, small plastic toys and much more.

To save your own time, pay attention to another type of sterilizers - for the microwave. Their principle of operation is in a sealed container, into which water is poured and bottles are placed. The container is then placed in the microwave for about 10 minutes at maximum power. Such sterilizers are inferior in size to electric ones, they can hold no more than four bottles. But they also cost much less. Metal objects cannot be sterilized in them either.

The next type to be mentioned is ultraviolet sterilizers. They run on batteries. Their operation does not require water, but, nevertheless, they disinfect bottles from all known types of bacteria at a high level. The whole process takes an average of 5 minutes. After sterilization, they switch off automatically.

Step 5

Another sterilization method mentioned above is cold sterilization. The bottles are placed in a container and filled with a special solution for 30 minutes, after which the solution is drained and sterility is maintained for 24 hours. The disadvantage of such sterilizers is the need for a fresh solution, moreover, it can leave a not very pleasant aftertaste.
