Tire retreading technology consists in cutting a new tread on the "bald" tire in the deepening of the sipes and in increasing the residual depth. Regruver is an electric apparatus with a rounded blade, reminiscent of a soldering iron and used to cut a new tread.

Instructions

Step 1

When cutting the tire, use only certified equipment with an electrically heated cutting blade. Before starting work, inspect the tire and determine its suitability for recovery. If you find significant damage to the rubber - cracks, cuts, tread breaks - reject it. It is possible to work with such a tire only after the identified defects have been eliminated.

Step 2

Make sure there is “regroovable” written on the sidewall of the tire. It means that the tire is suitable for cutting. Otherwise, do not use this rubber. Many tire models use cutting indicators to help you correctly determine the depth and the exact time when the need for it has come.

Step 3

Measure the tread depth on the repaired tire in the most worn-out area. For high-quality cutting, the average treadmill depth should be 4-5 mm, the minimum - 3 mm. If the wear is uneven, cut so that the 3mm tread is retained after completing the work.

Step 4

Remove the tire from the rim. Make sure the inner liner of the tire is not damaged. Remove stones and all foreign objects from the tread. Repair grooves if necessary.

Step 5

Cut the tread pattern according to the original, which should be visible at least partially on the tire of your choice. Pay particular attention to the correct positioning of the cutter on the regruver.

Step 6

To calculate the depth of the cutter, measure the residual tread depth at the most superficial point. Add up the minimum residual tread depth and the maximum depth of cut recommended for this tire. Usually the last parameter is 3-4 mm. Based on the result obtained, set the cutter to the required depth.

Step 7

After cutting, make sure that the tire is not damaged during the work. Make sure that the harness belts under the tread portion are not exposed in any place.

Step 8

Install a tire recovered by the regulator on any axle. But, according to the general opinion, use new tires on the front axle, and put the remanufactured ones on the rear axles or trailer axles.
