Rumors of global taxi reform have been around for years. Lately, many innovations have been introduced in this area of business. But, as the authorities say, even more serious changes await taxi drivers in the future. Perhaps everything is going to ensure that in each city to create a single ordering service, liquidating private firms.

All recent taxi reforms have been aimed at reducing the number of private cabbies and making travel around the city safer for residents. Many people have come across poor quality taxi drivers. And this is not surprising. In recent years, the number of small organizations involved in transportation has increased several times in almost every city. But the taxi service almost stopped monitoring the work of its employees.

Quite often, among the people involved in cabs, you can find inexperienced people who do not know the city. And that's the best case. Due to the fact that taxi management has stopped checking cars and drivers before going on the line, you can face more serious problems. For example, with a drunk taxi driver or with a criminal who robbed or even robbed his passengers. When a wave of similar problems almost swept Russian cities, a taxi reform was agreed.

The introductions that have already entered into force are pretty tough. For example, a car cannot be on a line without identification marks (checkers), information about tariffs and a license issued to the organization, receipts confirming payment, and a taximeter. Drivers who are not officially employed, but work under a contract, must have the status of a legal entity. If a violation is noticed, both the taxi driver and the company for which he works will be obliged to pay fines.

For legal entities, this law is even worse, now they can work only if they have their own car park. Recently, organizations have practically not acquired their own vehicle fleet, preferring to hire drivers with their own vehicles. And now the shipping companies are forced to buy cars in order to be able to continue their activities. Of course, this innovation hit the wallets of business owners seriously.

Of course, these are not all the reforms that have affected the taxi industry. The fines, the permit for parking with a certain type of passengers, and the permit to travel along the lanes intended for passenger transport have also changed. But major changes are still ahead. Most likely, in the near future all vehicles providing transport services will be of the same color, and perhaps even of the same brand. Most likely, the tariffs for all shipping companies will also become the same. It has already been agreed that every car must have a taximeter, a navigator, and an apparatus for reading bank cards. The law on this will come into force until 2015. And it seems that all the changes are being made for the benefit of the passengers. But in reality, the owners of taxi companies, who are forced to shell out tidy sums almost daily, and passengers who pay more and more costs each time are suffering.
