Even before the start of the Great Patriotic War, Maria Shelomova moved to Leningrad. She had a difficult burden - she survived the famine and the blockade of Leningrad as a young girl. Just like many Leningrad women, she carried water from the Neva, drowned a stove in the room and dreamed of becoming a nurse. After the war, she worked as a nurse. Her mother was killed by the Nazis in 1941, and hatred of the Nazi invaders, a heightened sense of justice and love for the Motherland forever remained in the heart of young Maria Shelomova.

The father of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was born in the Tver Region in the village of Pominovo. In his pre-war youth, he was a Komsomol activist in his native village and dreamed of a railway, locomotives and travel. I dreamed of unexplored routes and kilometers of new laid rails. Vladimir Spiridovich took part in the Great Patriotic War, returned from the front and alive and on both legs. In 1945, he got a job in the security of a carriage plant, closer to his favorite locomotives. Subsequently, he became a worker at a factory, and later a foreman.

Family values

Vladimir Putin's parents got married after the Great Patriotic War and did not part until their death. According to friends of this family, the couple respected and loved each other, created their family values and traditions. For each family holiday, Maria Ivanovna prepared a very large dish of pies with cottage cheese, cabbage, rice and eggs. The doors of their house were always open for guests and numerous relatives. The parents of the future president did not swear, lived in perfect harmony and from childhood raised their son in severity, but also in love, in respect for elders, instilled in him cultural values. They gave Vladimir a good education and encouraged all his undertakings in every possible way.

Soviet tale of love

Such a family fully confirms the popular wisdom that children are always successful in a strong family. Maria Ivanovna and Vladimir Spiridonovich died in one year. 1999 was a fatal year for them. At the beginning of the year, the mother of Vladimir Vladimirovich left, and on August 2, Vladimir Spiridonovich followed his beloved wife. Here is such a Leningrad tale of one family - "they loved each other and died on the same day." This family managed to survive the war, the blockade and at the same time preserve love and devotion towards each other for life.
